Privacy Policy

What we collect

To run the service, we collect:

  • Account info: name, email address, phone number.
  • Building details: the building you live in and your unit number, so we can deliver items.
  • Payment info: we don't store your full card details — Stripe does. We hold a reference to your Stripe customer and payment method so we can place deposit holds and charge late fees.
  • Reservation activity: the items you reserve, when, your delivery preferences, and the photos we take on drop-off and return.

How we use it

  • To provide the borrowing service and deliver items.
  • To process deposit holds, deposit releases, and late-fee charges through Stripe.
  • To communicate with you about reservations — confirmation, delivery, return reminders, and any charges that apply.
  • To track perks and rewards across your borrows (deposit- free milestones, 7-day reservation unlocks).

Third parties we work with

We share the minimum data needed with these vendors to run the service:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe stores your card details; we never see the full number.
  • Supabase — database and authentication. Your account info and reservation history are stored here.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (reservation confirmations, late-fee notices, etc.).
  • Twilio — phone verification. We send a one-time SMS code to confirm the number you provide at signup; the number isn't shared for marketing.

Each of these vendors has its own privacy practices; we choose providers that meet industry security standards.

We don't sell your data

Proxe doesn't sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We don't use your data for third-party advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and reservation records for as long as you have an active account, plus a reasonable retention window after that for accounting, tax, and dispute resolution. Payment records are kept as long as required by applicable law.

Your choices

  • You can update your profile details (name, email, phone, unit) from your profile page at any time.
  • You can remove your saved payment method, though you won't be able to reserve items without one on file.
  • To delete your account, email support@proxeapp.com.

Your Role in Protecting Your Information

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, the security of your information also depends on you. If you sign in to your account on shared or Proxe-provided devices or equipment you must log out when you finish to prevent the next user from accessing your account and personal information. We cannot be responsible for information exposed because an account was left signed in on a shared or public device.
